Rosie
Meet Rosie! This bio was written by a family that fostered Rosie for a couple weeks however the 3 cats in the home were not so happy with the new guest.Rosie is an active and affectionate companion who loves playing tug, going for runs, and splashing in natural waterways. While she is an older dog, she has plenty of energy and focus for training. She is highly toy-motivated and moderately food-motivated. Rosie truly loves her people; she will follow you from room to room and always greets you with a goofy smile. To ensure Rosie succeeds in her new home, there are a few important considerations: - Supervision: She is capable of jumping a six-foot fence and requires supervision when in the backyard. - Environment: She would do best as the only pet. While she can appear neutral around other animals, she struggles with confrontation. - Support: Rosie deals with separation anxiety and an aversion to thunder. She needs a patient owner who can provide structure and continue working on these challenges. In my personal experience with Rosie, I have found her "issues" to be quite manageable with time and practice. For example, by playing thunder noises during treat times, we were able to reduce her anxiety attacks from 30 minutes down to just five. She does excellently with car rides and leash walking, and she will even politely let you know when it is time for dinner.Rosie has been waiting for her forever home for some time now. She is a sweet, loving girl who just needs the right person or family to give her a chance to shine.Rosie is a sweet and loyal dog seeking her forever home.Rosie is a high-energy, older dog who loves running, swimming, and playing tug. She is toy and food-motivated, making her highly responsive to training. Due to her ability to jump 6-foot fences, she requires supervised outdoor time. While she experiences separation anxiety and thunder aversion, these are manageable; desensitization training has already reduced her storm-related anxiety from 30 minutes to five.Rosie is affectionate, enjoys car rides, and walks well on a leash. She would thrive as the only pet in a structured environment with a present and patient owner.
