Senior dogs for adoption by age

All dogs on Lily's Second Chance are 7 or older, but the oldest dogs wait longest of all. This page groups the adoptable senior dogs by age band, ten and older, twelve and older, and fifteen and older, so you can go straight to the dogs a shelter has the hardest time placing.

Ages on shelter listings are often estimates, especially for dogs who arrived as strays, so a band is a guide rather than a birth certificate. What the bands reliably show is which dogs are in their final years and would benefit most from a calm home now: dogs who are usually house-trained, past the need for long exercise, and content with company and a soft bed.
