A LOVING & PROTECTIVE GIRL: Approx. 8 years old / Approx. 58 lbs. Hi, my name’s Yasmeen! Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control and I’m sure happy they did! I’m now ready to find my furever family to love! I was selected to participate in the Mostly Mutts Prison Pups immersive training experience and learned a lot! I’m currently in a great foster home while I wait for my furever family to find me. My foster mom says my adopters will totally "hit the jackpot" with me — could that be you? • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met some other dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked them! I stayed with a boxer in a temp. foster home while my regular foster was on vacation and I did well with them. When I first meet new dogs, I might come across as dominant, but I quickly adjust to play mode. If you have a nice doggie at home already, let’s meet! / My foster reports that I am good with their male and female cats. / I met kids at Mostly Mutts that were around 10 years old, as well as a 7-year-old whom I gave kisses to on a day trip with my foster, and I liked them. In my temporary home, I did show some guarding behaviors, though I did not display any guarding in my temp. foster home. Because of this, a home with dog-savvy kids ages 15 and up may be the best fit for me, so let’s meet with my trainer. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I arrived a bit unsure of new people, and we learned that I like to know that I can trust you and then we’ll be good friends. It only took a day for that in the prison foster/training program. I LOVE my people a lot and guard them a bit when a stranger comes into the home, but if I know them, I’ve been alright. I’ve worked on this in the prison/foster training program, and we have found it helpful that I meet new people outside of my space/home, so doing this in my new home is recommended. Since settling into my foster home and building trust with my foster mom, I’m now able to meet strangers more often and with greater ease. I have a few close friends (neighbors) in our neighborhood that I look forward to greeting each day on my walks. I’d like a dog-savvy family, and I would not do well in a home with a lot of folks coming and going. I’ve been a great girl for my baths and ‘just the sweetest’ girl. / My energy level is 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts Prison Pups immersive training experience so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands. I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. / I’m doing well in my crate. / My potty manners are very good in my foster home. • LIKES/DISLIKES: Being with my people is just the best, and I love all the attention and cuddles that come my way. Playing fetch, chewing on bones, giving and receiving kisses, playing with toys, zoomies around the back yard, giving and receiving snuggles, and going for car rides are a few of my favorite things. My foster has been taking me on walks every morning, and I really look forward to those. Long naps after playtime are awesome! During a recent outing to a brewery with my foster, I wore a sunhat and had the best time soaking up the sunshine. I met several people there that I really liked, and I happily sat pretty for them in exchange for a treat. / I can be a bit nervous, so sudden movements at the shelter can startle me. I wouldn’t like a home with a lot of folks coming and going or where I’d be rushed. I’m not a fan of having my feet held. I do alert bark at strangers walking by and the delivery man in my foster home. Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I have some skin irritation so I’m taking an allergy medication called Zenrelia which I may or may not need to stay on - just ask about that. I sometimes have phantom pains in my tail since it had to be amputated. These can be common with amputees and should decrease in time. I may need to be muzzled for vetting. I am looking for a great home with a loving, furever family! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
