Meet Petey Sweet little Petey is looking for his forever home! This former Pixie returned to us when his beloved mama entered hospice care, and now he’s ready to start his next chapter with a new family. Petey is a 9-year-old Chihuahua mix who currently weighs about 17 pounds. While he’s a little on the chunky side, he’s already slimming down thanks to regular exercise and a healthier diet. More importantly, he’s full of love, joy, and personality. This happy, gentle boy loves spending time outdoors. Give him an open door and he’ll show off his adorable zoomies! In his foster home, he enjoys a fully fenced yard where he can sniff and explore to his heart’s content. He also loves going for walks, which are a great way to bond with him. Petey is the perfect mix of playful and relaxed—always up for an adventure, but equally content curling up for a long nap in his cozy bed. He rides great in the car, making him an easy companion for outings near and far. He gets along well with other dogs and doesn’t mind the cats in his foster home. Petey is crate trained, though he prefers the comfort of his own bed. He’s doing well with housetraining and will use potty pads if needed. He’s also a good little watchdog who will alert you when something catches his attention. Petey previously lived with another small dog, Buffy, who is also looking for a home—and we would absolutely love for them to be adopted together if possible. Petey would make a wonderful companion, especially for someone looking for a loyal, loving friend to dote on. He would do well in many environments, including an apartment. If you’re looking for a sweet, easygoing companion with plenty of love to give, Petey just might be your perfect match. Petey is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, dewormed and tested neg. for heartworm. His adoption fee is $350 We require that a martingale collar be used at the time of adoption. If you do not have a martingale collar, you can purchase one from Pixie Mamas for an additional $10. This requirement is in place to ensure the dog's safety and security.
