Dear Future Family, Hi… my name is Josh. I’m a 7 year old, 77 pounds of lovable squish, soulful brown eyes, and what my foster says is “the happiest wiggly butt in town.” I may not be a puppy anymore, but honestly? That just means you get the best parts of a dog right away. I’m past the chaos, but still full of life, love, and little bursts of goofy zoomies that will absolutely make you laugh. I was saved at the very last minute, and ever since then I’ve been trying my hardest to show everyone just how good of a boy I am. I love the simple things. A soft bed. A stuffed toy to carry around gently. A game of fetch in the yard. Calm car rides with the windows cracked just enough to sniff the air. I sleep quietly through the night and wake up ready to remind you that you are my favorite part of the whole world. And affection? Oh, I’m a professional at that. I’ll lean against you with my whole body like I’m trying to melt into your heart. I’ll sit with my back against your legs and tilt my head all the way up for neck scratches. If you stop petting me too soon, I’ll look at you with my big brown eyes like, “Excuse me… I think you forgot something.” People tell me I’m sweet, gentle, smart, and incredibly loyal. I’m eager to please, food motivated, and already know some commands. I listen well because making my humans happy makes me happy too. I do best as the only pet because I like my home to feel calm, safe, and predictable. The world can feel overwhelming for me sometimes, but when I trust you, I love with my entire heart. I don’t need a huge life. I just need my person. Someone who will throw my toy one more time. Someone who won’t mind me following them from room to room. Someone who wants a best friend as much as I want a family. I know there are lots of younger dogs out there. Flashier dogs. Puppies. But if you choose me, you’ll get something really special: a loyal companion who already knows how precious love truly is. I’ve been waiting patiently for my forever home. Maybe it’s you. Love always, Josh
