Riley is the only pet in her current foster home, but has had positive interactions with other dogs in prior foster homes. She does really well with slow introductions to new people, and is highly treat-motivated. She is a fast and eager learner, and is currently working on staying calm and focused on leash during her walks. Riley does well with an active routine. She enjoys 3 daily walks currently and would do well with a human who also appreciates walking/hiking/jogging. As she improves her skills on leash, she would really enjoy trail walks and all the new smells that would provide. Riley loves to tell her human all about the things she sees out the window, and delights in lots of conversation, attention, and back/neck scratches. While she is happy to walk and explore during the day, she is also acclimated to a routine bedtime and does well sleeping through the night. Evening television or book reading with her human on the couch is usually a highlight of her day. Riley enjoys tug-of-war with toys and is always excited to try a new puzzle or snuffle mat at snack time. She LOVES food and finds satisfaction in the mental stimulation these tools provide. She enjoys squeaky and crinkle toys, but mostly when someone will enjoy them with her, rather than on her own. Riley likes high energy playtime with her humans when possible - chase and/or hide and seek are often the correct answer to afternoon zoomies. Riley loves to communicate and is very expressive. She'll be sure to let you know (with her "words," or facial expression, or a gentle paw tap, or all of the above!) that she'd like a walk, playtime, back scratches, or a snack (always). She is a very happy dog and would be thrilled to find a forever home where she can continue to learn new things and explore new walking paths with her human(s).
