Nelson is a shy boy at the very beginning of his journey. Rescued through Duck Team 6, Nelson is still learning what it means to feel safe and loved. Right now, he’s extremely timid and unsure of the world, but every small step forward shows just how much potential he has. Nelson is low energy for now, spending most of his time observing quietly. He’s starting to build confidence, especially in the mornings when he’ll come out of his crate to be near his foster’s dog. While he’s not ready for much human interaction yet, he takes treats gently and is slowly learning to trust. He’ll need a very patient, understanding home that can give him the time and space to come out of his shell. A calm environment and possibly another confident dog will help him continue to grow. Nelson has all the makings of a truly special companion. All Dallas Pets Alive adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon adoption. The standard minimum donation for dogs over six months to seven years is $200, puppies under six months is $250, dogs eight years and over are $100 unless specified otherwise. You can view all adoptable pets and fill out an adoption application online on our website at http://dallaspetsalive.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/ .
