New to MAD, Sashtian is a big, strong, and exceptionally bright boy with a fantastic foundation. Trained using Gaelic commands, he responds reliably to more than 15 cues, including settle, quiet, release, right, left, closer, and back. He’s highly motivated by toys, tugs, and treats, which makes training both fun and rewarding. At 74 lbs, Sashtian is a powerful, gorgeous Malinois with a lot to offer a breedexperienced home. He is a High Drive dog and giving him a job is a must. He will need someone who has a passion for working with high level Malinois and giving them life long challenges and activities so they can thrive. Sashtian is Great with other dogs — he loves playing with his foster’s female Malinois Neutral in public and nonreactive to the 9yearold child he met (however, due to his drive and strength, a home with small children is not recommended) Energetic and enthusiastic, with leash pulling already improving in foster Seeks attention but can also entertain himself independently Crate trained and has a great off-switch when exercised sufficiently both mentally and physically A cuddle bug when relaxing, he loves to be either on or against his person on the couch! Like many Malinois, he’s not thrilled about vet visits, but we’re already working on gentle desensitization to help him feel more comfortable. We’re thrilled to welcome Sashtian to the MAD community.
