Hello! My name is SWEET (Sezar) and here is a little info about me: Breed: Golden Retriever/Lab/Shepard mixAge: 7 yrsGender: femaleCountry of Origin: Middle EastWeight: 66 lbsHighlight(s): loves playing ball, enjoys people, bonded with Salty. Why choose between sweet and salty when you can have both? My sister Salty and I are dreaming of a future where we can share our love with a family of our own. While we’re a pair, I’m ready to bring my gentle, sugary nature to any home that’s ready for a loyal companion. Life hasn’t been easy since our mother passed away when we were just puppies. After being cared for by a kind soul for a year, we sadly lost our Foster mom to cancer. Currently, we are in a very difficult situation, the boarding house where we've been staying can no longer keep us, and funds have run out. There is an urgent need for us to find a home immediately to avoid being sent to a crowded shelter or, even worse, the dangerous streets. We truly need a miracle right now. Connecting with people and making friends fast is my specialty! Playing ball is my favorite way to spend the day, and I’m wonderful with children. While I have a 'tad alpha' personality around smaller dogs or other females, I absolutely love large male dogs. Aside from my sister Salty, I’d be happiest as your only girl or with a big brother to look up to. My heart is full of gratitude, and I’m just waiting for a chance to show it. Dreaming of a yard to run in is what keeps me going! As long as there are regular outings and adventures, I’ll be perfectly content. Whether I find a home with my sister Salty (which would be a dream come true!) or start a new chapter by myself, being loved and safe is all that matters. A family that can be patient during my transition will find me to be the most devoted friend. Energy Level: moderateI get along with: Dogs: some - prefers large males, no small dogs or femalesCats: unknownKids: yesFears: none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition. Training: Leash skills: Not yet. Please be prepared to train me. House trained: Yes. Please be patient and guide me as I learn the rules of my new home. Health Notes: I have been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. While our rescuers always seek a flight without a charge, there is the possibility of a passenger fee, not to exceed $300 per dog. If you want both me and my sis, the fee is $1400.Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.[MID-EAST DOGS] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.
