Hi, I’m Felix! Here is a little info about me: Breed: Jindo mixAge: 5 yearsGender: Male Weight: 45 lb Height: 22 inchesHighlight(s): Good with cats and other dogs, happy, affectionateI was found wandering the streets in the winter of 2024 and taken to a city pound. No one came to claim me, and after a long wait I was placed on the euthanasia list in December 2024. I was rescued just in time, and since then I’ve been living in a shelter for about a year and 7 months, waiting for my forever home. Despite everything, I’m full of happiness. I’m a cheerful, affectionate, and social boy who always seems to be smiling. I love people—strangers are just friends I haven’t met yet. I warm up instantly, enjoy cuddles, belly rubs, and yes, I’ll happily give you face kisses! I don’t mind being picked up either (even if I might be a little heavy for it).I get along well with other dogs and greet them politely, though I’m more of a calm companion than a rough player. I’m gentle, non-reactive, and always choose to walk away if another dog is pushy. I even met a cat once and stayed calm when it swatted at me—I just approached gently and sniffed. I have a moderate energy level: I enjoy my walks and outdoor time, but I’m just as happy relaxing at home afterward. I walk fairly well on leash, don’t show aggression, resource guarding, separation anxiety, or escape tendencies. I’m mostly quiet, though I might whine a little in a crate or bark occasionally when I want something. I’m about 90% housetrained and still learning the ropes in new places. All I really want is a loving home where I can finally belong—and I promise to fill it with love, smiles, and a lot of tail wags. I get along with: Dogs: yesCats: yesKids: unknownEngergy Level: Moderate, Enjoys outdoor activities and likes to rest/calm at home after walks. Fears: Non observed . Please be patient assisting me in my transition. Leash skills: Yes. Please be prepared to continue training. House trained: Yes 90%Health notes: I have been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.
