Dallas and Paris are 10-year-old German/Australian Shepherd mixes who still have plenty of energy and absolutely love attention. They are very people-oriented dogs and are happiest when they can spend time with their family. We worked from home, so they were used to being around us throughout the day and had a doggie door that allowed them to come and go freely between the house and yard. Before we left to Peru for volunteer work, we carefully rehomed Dallas and Paris because we wanted to make sure they would continue receiving the love, attention, and care they deserved. Unfortunately, they were recently returned to us, putting us in a very difficult and unexpected situation. I truly believed I had taken care of everything before we left, and now I am desperately trying to find them the right home. At the moment, they are staying temporarily with my 70-year-old mother. She has the space to keep them safe, and we are very grateful for her help, but she simply does not have the physical ability to provide the exercise, interaction, and attention they need. My greatest concern is finding them a loving home as soon as possible where they can thrive. One additional request we have is that Dallas and Paris remain together if at all possible. They have spent their entire lives together and have never known life apart from one another. They are very bonded, and it would mean so much to us to find a home willing to welcome them both. We truly believe they will adjust best and continue to thrive if they can stay side by side as they always have. They would need some training if they are expected to become farm guard dogs, as they have primarily been companion animals. Like most dogs, if left alone for extended periods (which only happened occasionally), they could become mischievous and would sometimes find ways to get out of the yard. We found that regular walks, playtime, and mental stimulation kept them happy and well-behaved. They are both very loving dogs who enjoy cuddling and being close to their people. Recently, they have been eating a fresh meat diet and have appeared healthy, energetic, and thriving. Regarding vaccinations, Paris was due for her vaccines at the end of May, and Dallas is due for his in mid-July. At the request of their current caretakers, I did not make arrangements to have them updated. However, I can arrange for their vaccinations to be brought up to date immediately if desired. Dallas may look tough, but he is truly a gentle soul. He is frightened by storms, likely due to trauma from before we rescued him. During storms, we have given him natural calming gummies, which seem to help him relax. Paris is incredibly intelligent and eager to learn. In the past, she experienced some hip issues, but with proper care and attention she recovered well. Because of this, we generally kept walks to about a mile or less for both dogs. They are wonderful companions who deserve a home where they can receive love, attention, and regular interaction. Please , if you know anyone who may be interested, we would be so grateful if you could help spread the word. We are asking for help because we genuinely want what is best for Dallas and Paris. They have been deeply loved members of our family, and our hope is to find someone who can give them the same love, companionship, and care they have always known. Thank you for keeping them in mind and for sharing their story with others. **** Breed: German/Australian Shepard **** Pet Link: https://www.nokillnetwork.org/adoption/pet_detail.php?petid=2199441&flag=1
