Meet Cheeba

Meet Cheeba, a pint-sized queen with a heart full of love and 14 years of wisdom tucked into her fluffy little frame. This darling Shorkie has mastered the art of cozy living and is searching for a kind soul to share it with. Her favorite hobbies include curling up in cloud-soft beds, keeping gentle company with her favorite humans, and being an expert at relaxing. Cheeba is wonderfully easygoing—she rides beautifully in the car and hardly bats an eye when thunderstorms roll through. Like many senior ladies, Cheeba prefers a quieter pace of life. A home without young, energetic children would suit her best, and while she gets along wonderfully with all dog-friendly dogs, she’d be happiest with a calm canine companion if she has one. She doesn’t require another dog, though, as long as her humans are home most of the time to keep her company. Cheeba is potty trained and lets you know when she needs to go outside—she’s an outdoor-only girl when it comes to bathroom breaks. As she enjoys her golden years, this tiny lady dreams of a forever home filled with soft blankets, peaceful days, and plenty of love. In return, she’ll offer quiet companionship, unwavering devotion, and the kind of unconditional love that only a senior dog can give. If your heart has room for a gentle little companion who asks for nothing more than a warm lap and a loving home, Cheeba is ready to spend her happily ever after by your side. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Adopting Cheeba — FAQ

How do I adopt Cheeba?

Use the adoption link or contact details on this page to apply directly with Underdog Rescue MN in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. Lily's Second Chance lists Cheeba to help them get seen — the adoption is handled by that organization.

Is Cheeba still available for adoption?

Cheeba's listing is refreshed regularly, but availability can change quickly as dogs are adopted. Always confirm Cheeba is still available directly with Underdog Rescue MN before making plans.

Is Cheeba a senior dog?

Yes. Every dog listed on Lily's Second Chance, including Cheeba, is a senior — generally age 7 or older. Senior dogs are often already house-trained and calm, and they wait the longest for a home.

Can I foster Cheeba instead of adopting?

Some shelters and rescues offer a foster-to-adopt path — you foster first, then complete the adoption if the match feels right. Check Cheeba's profile for the organization's contact details and ask them directly whether a fostering option is available.

What should I expect in the first weeks after adopting Cheeba?

Senior dogs typically have a brief adjustment period of a few days to a couple of weeks as they settle into a new home. They may be quiet or shy at first, then relax once they feel safe. A calm routine, a comfortable place to sleep, and patience usually make the transition smooth. Most senior dogs settle in faster than puppies because they are already past the demanding early stage.

Is Cheeba good with children or other pets?

Compatibility depends on the individual dog's history and personality more than age or breed alone. Underdog Rescue MN can tell you about Cheeba's known behavior around children, cats, and other dogs. Many organizations offer a meet-and-greet before finalizing an adoption to make sure the match is right for everyone.
