Meet Kylo Jace

Kylo is as goofy as they get! He is part of our Canine Enrichment Program because Kylo is suspicious and untrusting of new people. But once he decides you're in his group, you have a friend for life, and you'll see the wonderful dog he is! He is very loyal and loving with all his handlers and gets very excited to see his friends. Kylo LOVES car rides, fluffy beds, and tasty snacks! Kylo does have several food allergies and is on a special limited-ingredient diet to help with this. He has long beautiful wavy hair and will smile proudly when he wants to show off his freshly brushed hair. Kylo is part of our RACE (Runner Assisted Canine Exercise) Team and does well both while exercising and being around so many dogs. He will let you dress him up and take his picture. After a long fun day, Kylo will gently lay his head on your lap for affection. Kylo will need a patient and experienced owner who will be understanding of Kylo's special needs and loyal nature. Because it can take him a long time to get comfortable around new people, Kylo will require multiple meet and greets to get to know a new person. What should I expect in the first weeks after adopting Kylo Jace?

Senior dogs typically have a brief adjustment period of a few days to a couple of weeks as they settle into a new home. They may be quiet or shy at first, then relax once they feel safe. A calm routine, a comfortable place to sleep, and patience usually make the transition smooth. Most senior dogs settle in faster than puppies because they are already past the demanding early stage.
