Meet Nike 2026

Blue-eyed NIKE is stunning petite Australian Shepherd girl. Her floofy coat makes her look like she's part llama or alpaca, but she's all Aussie! 34-pound Nike is a loving girl with a big heart. At 9 years old she's considered a senior chronologically, but Nike did not get the memo. She's lively, fun and affectionate. Nike spent her life as a treasured family member, but her world was turned upside down when her elderly mom’s health took a turn for the worse and sadly Nike had no place to go. Nike is accustomed to life as an only dog in a quiet home and she’s ideally suited to a similar living environment. So far, she’s indifferent to other dogs, she might be okay with another dog as a roommate, but she seems to have no interest in a playmate. She would love to be someone’s constant companion in a quieter home – maybe with an active retiree or with someone who works from home. Nike received excellent veterinary care over the course of her life and recently had a dental cleaning. She’s medium energy, housebroken and well behaved. If you’d like ot meet Nike, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Nike at our weekly adoption event, Saturday 11:30am-1:30pm at PetSmart Eastgate. Our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention.
