Meet Freddy
Freddy's story breaks our hearts and we are looking for a special home for this boy that will cherish him in his golden years. This sweet and loving old gentleman ended up at the shelter when his family moved and left him behind. They had owned him since he was a puppy and now he's feeling a bit lost without the home he's known his whole life. He is 12 years old and a Labradoodle. Freddy is friendly with everyone he meets - kids, cats and other dogs. He is a loving boy in good shape and still always ready to go on a walk. He is housetrained and knows his commands. If you think you are ready to add to your family by adopting Freddy then fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website today! We recommend completing the questionnaire and connecting with an adoption coach before looking for a dog or puppy you'd like to adopt. If you're already approved to adopt or if you've adopted from Labs and More before, connect with your adoption coach for the next steps. Your interest in adopting a rescued dog or puppy from Labs and More Rescue is appreciated! Please find our adoption information at www.labsandmore.org. Your adoption donation provides funding for Labs and More, a nonprofit organization which is supported solely by Volunteers and funded by donations. Good news is your adoption donation can be considered tax deductible. So much care is provided to your new dog prior to the adoption, including: spay and neuter, microchip, veterinarian visit(s), vaccinations, and other medical care as needed. Many of the dogs we rescue require extensive surgeries and care prior to adoption. Please understand we are unable to predict future behavior or medical needs of your adopted dog. We provide no guarantees regarding behavior, breed, or age of the dogs. Thank you for rescuing. Thank you for joining the Adoption Family with Labs and More Rescue. We are here to help you find a furry companion. You will find our quick and easy adoption application at www.labsandmore.org and click on Adopt. Please email us at I [email protected] if you need assistance. Thank you for looking to a rescue group to fulfill your dream of adding a new dog to your life! Dogs + Love = Family

Adopting Freddy — FAQ
How do I adopt Freddy?
Use the adoption link or contact details on this page to apply directly with California Labradors Retrievers and More Rescue in San Diego, California. Lily's Second Chance lists Freddy to help them get seen — the adoption is handled by that organization.
Is Freddy still available for adoption?
Freddy's listing is refreshed regularly, but availability can change quickly as dogs are adopted. Always confirm Freddy is still available directly with California Labradors Retrievers and More Rescue before making plans.
Is Freddy a senior dog?
Yes. Every dog listed on Lily's Second Chance, including Freddy, is a senior — generally age 7 or older. Senior dogs are often already house-trained and calm, and they wait the longest for a home.
Can I foster Freddy instead of adopting?
Some shelters and rescues offer a foster-to-adopt path — you foster first, then complete the adoption if the match feels right. Check Freddy's profile for the organization's contact details and ask them directly whether a fostering option is available.
What should I expect in the first weeks after adopting Freddy?
Senior dogs typically have a brief adjustment period of a few days to a couple of weeks as they settle into a new home. They may be quiet or shy at first, then relax once they feel safe. A calm routine, a comfortable place to sleep, and patience usually make the transition smooth. Most senior dogs settle in faster than puppies because they are already past the demanding early stage.
Is Freddy good with children or other pets?
Compatibility depends on the individual dog's history and personality more than age or breed alone. California Labradors Retrievers and More Rescue can tell you about Freddy's known behavior around children, cats, and other dogs. Many organizations offer a meet-and-greet before finalizing an adoption to make sure the match is right for everyone.
Know a senior dog who needs a home?
Shelters and rescues can list adoptable senior dogs for free.
