Meet Lumiere
Meet Lumiere! This sweet boy came to us after being rescued from the euthanasia list at an overcrowded shelter. He is just the nicest dog! He came to us in very poor condition but is doing well in his foster home now. Lumiere is around 7 years old and 22 lbs. He is an easy-going and gentle boy. He is in a foster home with quite a few other dogs, both big and small, a few cats and a few kids. He takes it all in stride. He is not super playful but just content to be around you. Not a needy kind of boy. He likes to snoop around the yard and sun himself, and loves a walk every day too. Lumiere can probably fit into any situation - he doesn't seem to mind and is grateful for love shown to him. He is a lovely boy. He is vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. His adoption fee is $450

Adopting Lumiere — FAQ
How do I adopt Lumiere?
Use the adoption link or contact details on this page to apply directly with Saving Great Animals in Bellevue, Washington. Lily's Second Chance lists Lumiere to help them get seen — the adoption is handled by that organization.
Is Lumiere still available for adoption?
Lumiere's listing is refreshed regularly, but availability can change quickly as dogs are adopted. Always confirm Lumiere is still available directly with Saving Great Animals before making plans.
Is Lumiere a senior dog?
Yes. Every dog listed on Lily's Second Chance, including Lumiere, is a senior — generally age 7 or older. Senior dogs are often already house-trained and calm, and they wait the longest for a home.
Can I foster Lumiere instead of adopting?
Some shelters and rescues offer a foster-to-adopt path — you foster first, then complete the adoption if the match feels right. Check Lumiere's profile for the organization's contact details and ask them directly whether a fostering option is available.
What should I expect in the first weeks after adopting Lumiere?
Senior dogs typically have a brief adjustment period of a few days to a couple of weeks as they settle into a new home. They may be quiet or shy at first, then relax once they feel safe. A calm routine, a comfortable place to sleep, and patience usually make the transition smooth. Most senior dogs settle in faster than puppies because they are already past the demanding early stage.
Is Lumiere good with children or other pets?
Compatibility depends on the individual dog's history and personality more than age or breed alone. Saving Great Animals can tell you about Lumiere's known behavior around children, cats, and other dogs. Many organizations offer a meet-and-greet before finalizing an adoption to make sure the match is right for everyone.
