About adopting a Pomeranian
A pomeranian in its senior years looks like a small fox that has decided to run the household. The bold, bossy, alert personality that defines the breed tends to persist well past 7, along with the bark that goes with it, but an older pom is also a devoted lap dog that follows its person from room to room and sleeps in a tight curl at the foot of the bed.
Older pomeranians suit apartments and quiet households and are often surrendered by elderly owners who can no longer manage. They can be sharp with rough children and picky about other dogs, and they are lightly built enough that a fall or a careless step can injure them. Exercise is a short walk and indoor play.
