What Lily's Second Chance is
Lily's Second Chance is a free, volunteer-driven nonprofit directory that aggregates adoptable senior-dog listings from shelters and rescues across the United States. We are not a shelter, rescue, or adoption agency. We do not place dogs, collect adoption fees, or facilitate adoption applications. All adoption inquiries go directly to the shelter or rescue caring for each dog.
Listing accuracy
Listings are sourced from third-party shelter and rescue feeds and are updated automatically. We cannot guarantee that any listing is current or complete. A dog shown as available may already be adopted, on hold, or no longer listed. Always confirm availability, adoption requirements, and fees directly with the shelter or rescue before making plans.
Photos, descriptions, and other details are provided by the originating organization and belong to them. We present them only to help dogs get seen by potential adopters.
Community content
The site includes community-submitted content: comments, memorials, happy-ending stories, and adoption-correction reports. By submitting content you confirm:
- You own or have the right to share any photos or text you submit.
- Your submission is truthful and does not impersonate anyone.
- You grant Lily's Second Chance a royalty-free license to display your submission on the site and related social-media pages for the purpose of helping senior dogs.
All community content is moderated before it appears publicly. We may decline or remove any submission that is misleading, harmful, or off-topic, without notice.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, crawl, or systematically download site content in a way that harms our infrastructure or violates any shelter’s terms.
- Use the site to send unsolicited messages, spam, or commercial solicitations.
- Submit false, misleading, or abusive content through any community form.
- Attempt to circumvent any security, access control, or rate-limiting measure.
No warranties
The site and its content are provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We make no guarantee of uptime, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose. Care and health information on this site is general and educational — it is not veterinary, medical, legal, or financial advice. Always consult a licensed veterinarian about your pet’s health.
Limitation of liability
Lily's Second Chance and its volunteers are not liable for any damages arising from your use of this site, reliance on any listing or community content, or any adoption outcome. Your use of the site is entirely at your own discretion.

We link to shelter websites, veterinary directories, and other third-party resources. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or practices.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We will update the date at the top of this page when we do.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.
