Meet Abe

Abe! He is coming out of his shell and feeling so much better. His favorite thing to do is lay out on the patio and sun himself. He’s gotten the treat game down, does great on walks, climbs stairs, and still has lots of life in him! He’s a mellow little guy who would make a great companion—whether you want to take him along on adventures or just hang out together at home. He also does great with other dogs. Abe is just an easygoing, sweet senior guy looking for his person. Abe! Abe is one of the five senior Chihuahuas who came to us after being found in an abandoned home, and this sweet little guy is settling beautifully into his new chapter. At about 11 years old and 8 pounds, Abe is a tiny gentleman with a BIG love for cuddling. His favorite place? Right beside you—or better yet, in your lap. He’s happiest simply being close to his person. Abe recently had some much-needed dental work, and an abscess he had is healing nicely. He’s feeling better every day and could probably stand to gain another pound or so. A few extra snacks? Abe certainly won’t complain! He gets along well with other dogs and has a gentle, easygoing personality. He doesn’t ask for much—just a soft place to land, a warm lap, and someone to love. After everything Abe has been through, we would love to see him spend his golden years knowing exactly what it means to be safe, cherished, and home. We do not have any paid staff members. Our adoption fee is $300 which includes spay/neuter, DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies, HW check, and microchip. Russell Rescue dogs are fostered in the Middle Tennessee area. We do not ship/transport our dogs, so the approved adopter must be willing to travel to Tennessee. Russell Rescue will try to first place our rescue dogs locally or in surrounding states. Russell Rescue is not open to the public for visiting hours. We do not have a physical location of our own.
