Meet Bo

BO – Chocolate Male, 6 years, 70 lbs. We don’t always know much about the dogs who come to us from shelters, but sometimes even a little information from their previous owners can tell us something important. We know Bo lived in a backyard with a younger, huge Malamute-type dog. The two boys apparently got bored and escaped, and the shelter would return them home. That is, until the owners refused to repair the fencing or take the dogs back. So, we know one thing for sure: Bo does NOT want to live in a backyard! Since coming into rescue, we’ve learned so much more about this handsome boy. Bo is dog friendly. Bo absolutely loves affection and really enjoys being with people. He walks pretty darn well on a leash, although he can occasionally pull if he sees something that needs to be seen, so his adopter will need to be aware of and work with that. He LOVES a soft bed in the middle of the living room floor. He is house trained, crate trained, and knows how to use a doggy door. He has successfully coexisted with two older dogs and a dog savvy cat in his fosters home. Bo has also shown us that horses, chickens and other distractions don’t necessarily bother him. Today, he was completely uninterested in the horses and chickens! The one thing everyone who has spent time with Bo agrees on is how affectionate he is and how much he enjoys being around people. He has those wonderful, goofy, lovable chocolate Labrador ways that make you smile. Bo is a really great dog who would love a home where he can be part of the family—not left out in the backyard.
