Meet Buddy

Meet Buddy! A handsome seven-year-old Siberian Husky/Shepherd mix in Frazee, MN, whose essence is a calm, loyal heart wrapped in a beautiful white and apricot coat. He is the kind of companion who makes every day brighter, whether he is exploring a wooded trail, happily chasing a tennis ball, or curling up beside his favorite people for a well-earned snuggle! Buddy has wonderful manners, is house trained, and has completed formal obedience training, proudly responding to commands like sit, stay, come, down, off, paw, shake, nudge, drop, and fetch. His intelligence shines through in everything he does, and he genuinely enjoys learning while spending time with the people he loves. Buddy's easygoing personality has helped him become compatible with an impressive variety of friends. He has lived comfortably alongside children, another dog, several cats, a turkey, and even a flock of chickens, making him just as happy in the country as he is in a neighborhood with room for daily adventures. Car rides and swimming are among his favorite outings, and he especially enjoys being included wherever life takes his family. Having previously worked as a service dog, he thrives when he can stay close to his favorite person and be part of everyday activities! Like many devoted companions, Buddy prefers a predictable routine but can also adapt when life changes. He would do best with a family who understands that he feels most secure when he is included instead of being left alone in a locked crate. He sometimes gives gentle attention-seeking nips, simply sharing his strong opinions in his own clever way. He also receives medication to manage a suspected skin condition affecting his nose, while the rest of his health evaluations, including his hips and elbows, have been excellent. Daily brushing, monthly baths, and regular dental care help keep him feeling his best. Buddy can have some enthusiasm on leash when walking with a flat collar, but he responds well to supportive walking equipment. His adventurous Husky side has also inspired him to climb a 4-foot fence, so he will need thoughtful outdoor management, whether that means a secure 6-foot fenced area or consistent leash walking. Buddy is ready to share unwavering companionship, laughter, and countless adventures with a loving family who welcomes him as an everyday partner.
