Meet Cedrik
Meet Cedrik! A sweet eleven-and-a-half-year-old Miniature Goldendoodle currently in Gilbertsville, PA, whose essence is a gentle blend of devotion, playfulness, and golden-coated charm. At 29 pounds, Cedrik is a medium-sized boy who loves being close to his favorite people. Hugs, kisses, cozy bedtime companionship, and plenty of togetherness are all high on his list! He even has an adorable way of communicating: when he wants dinner or a potty break, he offers a short half-bark and looks directly into your eyes. It is Cedrik’s personal notification system, and ignoring that face may prove difficult! This clever gentleman has completed formal obedience training and knows sit, paw, come here, bedtime, hungry, treat, and dinner. Squeaky little balls and bones bring out his playful side, and he also enjoys car rides. Cedrik is fully house-trained and appreciates easy access outside, preferably through a fenced yard, along with short, comfortable walks. One especially helpful habit is Cedrik’s respect for indoor gates and boundaries. His family uses gates to keep him comfortably in designated areas when needed, such as when cleaners are working or when someone is at the door. Even when visitors have him excitedly barking and jumping because he wants to say hello, Cedrik understands that the gate is a boundary and stays behind it. Cedrik needs a caring environment where someone is home most of the time because being alone is difficult for him. Fireworks and loud noises can frighten him. On walks, he may bark at other dogs and become excited by passing trucks, so attentive leash handling is important. He is selective with dogs, his compatibility with cats is unknown, and recent experience with children is limited. As a senior, Cedrik needs thoughtful health support. He is showing signs of arthritis in his legs and hips and has fatty lumps. He also has a history of seizures associated with overheating or overstimulation. An MRI was clear, and his seizures were considered idiopathic. His last seizure was approximately one year ago, with veterinarians recommending monitoring rather than daily medication. Dog parks and commercial grooming environments should be avoided. Mobile grooming every five weeks works well for him! Cedrik is neutered, microchipped, and current on vaccinations. A calm family who can offer companionship, gentle routines, positive reinforcement, and plenty of affection can help this loving boy enjoy his next chapter.
