Meet Charlie

Hi, I’m Charlie! I’m 11 years old, which means I’ve had plenty of time to perfect the art of being practically perfect in every way. I’m a Beagle/Basset Hound mix, and while I may have a few more years under my belt, my heart is still full of love, curiosity, and appreciation for the simple things in life. My favorite thing? Being near my person. I don’t need to be the center of attention, and I certainly don’t need to be entertained every second. I’m happiest just keeping you company. If you’re outside gardening, I’ll follow along and hang out nearby. If you’re playing the piano, I’ll happily curl up underneath it and listen. And if you invite me onto the bed at night? Well, I certainly won’t argue. I’m incredibly friendly and kind. I love meeting people and have been wonderful with everyone who has visited my foster home. I’m also very sweet with my two Chihuahua-mix foster siblings. Basically, I’m the guy who walks into a room and says, “Hi, everyone! I’m Charlie. We’re going to be friends, right?” ❤️ I’m also a pretty smart fellow. I figured out my foster home and backyard in no time, and I already know how to sit when asked. I’m completely housebroken, too! When nature calls, I simply stand by the door and let my people know it’s time to go outside. Pretty convenient, huh? I enjoy going for walks and am a very good walking buddy. I usually go about a mile and do great! I do have a Beagle nose, so there are LOTS of important smells that need investigating. Occasionally I pull a little when I catch an especially interesting scent, but I’m a quick learner and stop when I feel the leash gently remind me to slow down. I’m not much of a foodie and can be a little finicky about my meals. I just like to keep my humans on their toes. At 11, I’m probably not looking for a family who wants me to climb mountains every weekend. But a nice walk? Absolutely. Wandering around the yard while you garden? Sign me up. Lounging nearby while you read, relax, or play the piano? That sounds perfect. I’m a gentle, affectionate, friendly guy who seems very happy to be part of a household. I don’t need much to make me happy—just a person or family to love, a cozy place to rest, and the chance to be your quiet little shadow. So if you’re looking for a kind, easygoing, wonderfully sweet companion who just wants to be wherever you are, I think we might be a pretty perfect match. And if there happens to be room for me on your bed… Well, I’m available for cuddles. Just saying. ❤️
