Meet Chet

LOCATION: CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO ADOPTABLE ANYWHERE IN THE USA Chet is a 7 year old foxhound, about 47 pounds, and possibly the most agreeable dog in Missouri. The vet, a bath, a pet store full of strangers- none of it bothered him. His foster says he's the nicest foster she's ever kept, and she has a long history of fostering, so that's a pretty strong endorsement. He was found as a stray in rural Missouri, and he's been winning people over ever since. The vet staff loved him. The bath place loved him. A girl at the pet supply store met him, recognized him from his original post, and handed over a donation for the rescue on the spot. Chet gets along with other dogs, including his foster's six-hound crew, and ignored the local kittens entirely. He can be a little nervous with new people but he warms up quickly. He even knows sit and heel! Right now Chet mostly wants to sleep. He's being treated for ehrlichia, a tick-borne infection, and he's showing some evidence of having a hard life before coming in to our care. He's eating well, gaining weight, and the vet expects him to perk up as he recovers. Chet is looking for a home where he can finish his nap, go for a long sniffy walk, and learn to get used to being a loved and very spoiled family dog. helplesshounds.com/adopt Chet - Foxhound - Jackson, MO - transport available - adoptable nationwide
