Meet Timothy TX

Hi. I’m Timothy. Or… at least that’s what everyone tells me, because I can’t hear a thing. I’m about 8 years old, can’t hear a damn thing, have some vision impairment, and apparently I have what my foster mom calls “the personality of a wall.” I don’t really know what that means, but everyone seems to agree. I don’t do the adorable head tilts. I don’t get the zoomies. I don’t wag my tail every time you walk into the room. Most of the time I just kind of… stand there… looking at you with my blank little face. If you’re waiting for me to entertain you, you’re probably going to be waiting a while. Honestly? I’m just a very quiet, very mellow little guy. Life wasn’t always easy for me. I ended up in a high-kill shelter in Texas in pretty rough shape. My skin was in bad condition, my coat was thin, and I even had a large lump on my hip that needed to be removed. Thankfully, some wonderful people took care of all of that, and now I’m safe with NorthStar while I wait for a forever family. One thing I do genuinely enjoy is going for walks. My foster mom says I’m excellent on a leash, and I have to admit, I know exactly what I’m doing out there. People take me a little longer. Since I can’t hear and don’t see perfectly, new situations can make me a bit unsure. I like gentle people who move slowly and let me figure things out at my own pace. Other dogs are just fine with me and, once I settle in, I’ll quietly follow my person from room to room like a little shadow. I’m not a snuggly, over-the-top affectionate dog. I’m not going to demand attention or make a big production out of anything. I’m simply… Timothy.
