Meet Shadow

Meet Shadow!** *The handsome Husky who may or may not have selective hearing… * Shadow is a classic Husky through and through and will require a family with past husky experience. He bounces, he zooms, he plays, and he likes to test the limits just to see what he can get away with. And when you tell him “no”? Well… sometimes his ears mysteriously stop working. But underneath all that Husky chaos is a **big-hearted, incredibly loving boy** who absolutely adores his people. Shadow loves to cuddle, enjoys roughhousing with his person and his foster brother, and thinks playtime is always a good idea. He loves his toys too, although he can be a little guarded about sharing them, so his forever family will need to continue helping him learn that good things don't have to be guarded. Since coming to Guardians of the Green Mile, Shadow's manners have improved **immensely**. He's learning, growing, and becoming more confident every day. He's crate trained, rides well in the car, and is an absolute good boy at the vet. ❤️ **Shadow & Other Animals:** Shadow does best with **larger dogs** and absolutely loves roughhousing and playing with his Husky foster brother. When meeting new dogs, however, Shadow needs **slow, thoughtful introductions** and time to get comfortable. He's not a dog who should be thrown into a situation and expected to instantly make friends. **Cats & Small Animals:** Shadow **cannot live with cats or other small animals**. His forever home will need to be one where he doesn't have access to cats or small pets. **Kids:** Shadow does enjoy kids, but **brief doses are best**. Because of some trauma in his past, he is looking for a home without children where he can feel safe and continue to thrive. What Shadow really needs is a Husky-savvy person who understands that beneath the fluffy coat is a clever, energetic, sometimes mischievous dog who needs **exercise, play, patience, consistency, and lots of love**. He's not finished with his journey yet—and that's okay. He's working hard to become the very best version of himself. If you're looking for a dog who will make you laugh, keep you on your toes, cuddle with you, wrestle with you, and occasionally pretend he has never heard the word “come”… **Shadow might just be your guy.** Shadow is ready for a forever family who will love him for the wonderfully goofy Husky he is—and help him keep becoming the best boy he can be. Shadow is available for adoption through available through Guardians of the Green Mile (www.gotgm.org) of Portage, IN. Application can be found here: https://www.jotform.us/form/43196636952162
