Meet Hooper
Please ensure you understand and can meet the needs of this dog before applying. Energy level: low Potty training: yes with a routine schedule Fenced yard: not needed, would be a great addition Shared walls: likes to alert bark People: all Dogs: his size only, gets along well with foster-mate Hannah Overview Looking for a mellow, easygoing companion with a little dachshund sass? Hooper is a 13-year-old smooth red miniature dachshund weighing 11 lbs, and he is exactly the kind of dog who makes a house feel like home. Hooper came to Little Paws following a divorce and is ready for the next chapter. He's funny and quirky in that distinctly dachshund way, utterly easygoing at his core, and more than ready to find a quiet, loving place to settle in. Hooper prefers his humans to be nearby and is happy to join along for adventures so he is not alone. If there is food nearby, Hooper will also be nearby. He is highly food motivated! Environment Hooper is a low-key, contented soul. He loves his walks and exploring the outdoors. He gets along with respectful dogs and can be adopted with Hannah, his foster-mate. If not, there should be at least another dog in the house of calm temperament for Hooper. He is chatty, especially when greeting people, so a home without shared walls is likely the best fit. He travels quietly in the car with no radius restrictions. Pets & People Hooper is great with everyone: friendly with strangers once the initial greeting announcement has been made, relaxed and easy with other dogs of calm temperament. Hooper should not go to a home with large dogs (40lbs+). He is a good eater and loves treats. He's a senior dog in the best sense: settled, good-natured, and ready to be someone's loyal companion for whatever comes next. He just wants to be in his human's sight at all times! Location Hooper is available for adoption from Boston, MA. He is currently being fostered alongside Hannah, a nine-year-old female dachshund, and the two get along well. Please email [email protected] with any questions or complete an adoption application at the button above. The adoption fee for Hooper is $250, or senior to senior adoption for $125.
