Meet Russ
If you’re looking for a laid-back, low-maintenance companion, Russ is your guy. This sweet senior knows exactly what he likes in life: a soft blanket, a comfy bed, and a human to relax beside. Give him a cozy spot and he’s in absolute heaven. Russ can be a little shy at first, but once he feels safe, his affectionate side shines through. He loves gentle scratches (especially all over!) and will happily curl up next to you on the couch for a quiet night in. Don’t expect a toy enthusiast—Russ would much rather binge-watch your favorite shows with you than chase a ball. This treat-loving gentleman has a soft spot for blueberries, cheese, peanut butter, and pretty much any snack you’re willing to share. One of his cutest habits? He’ll rub his head into your hand to politely request more pets—it’s his way of saying “don’t stop!”Russ values his comfort and isn’t a fan of being moved once he’s settled in. He’ll let you know when something isn’t his preference, so he’s looking for an experienced dog owner who understands canine body language and will respect his boundaries. In return, you’ll get a loyal, calm companion who just wants to be near you. He would do well with men, women, and older children who understand his need for space. Russ isn’t very active and is perfectly content lounging the day away. Whether you work from home or head out during the day, he handles alone time well and will be ready to greet you with quiet sweetness when you return. At 10 years old, Russ is ready to enjoy the good life—filled with comfort, love, and plenty of snacks. If you’ve got a cozy spot and a gentle heart, Russ might just be your perfect match Stop by our weekly adoption events on Saturdays from 11-3 pm at 372 Townline Road in Mundelein, IL 60060 to meet our adoptable animals in person.
