She is a *very* friendly middle-aged to senior GSD with the following diagnoses:- weight loss in shelter (though she is not underweight) and continued diarrhea in shelter - labwork was run to screen for diseases; her B12 was low, which can be indicative of IBD (inflammatory bowel disease) or bacterial overgrowth in the gut, and on 7/22 was started back on probiotics, placed on a hydrolyzed diet, and started on B12 supplementation- came into shelter with very severe chronic ear infections, treated twice in shelter and remain **clinically resolved** as of 7/21 - her ears may need long-term monitoring or follow-up care if the infections recur- mammary nodules - a willing rescue could consider having these biopsied or removed at time of spay- fractured carnassial tooth (chronically) that needs to be removed - back pain noticed on physical exam near lower back - this could be spinal `arthritis`, disc extrusion, or other disease of the spine. she has been started on gabapentinStill in need of urgent rescue 05/28/26 15:55Friendly 8 year old German shepherd in need of non-urgent rescue. Prior ear injury. Severe bilateral ear infections - treated under sedation with cleaning and Simplera (Claro) into each ear. May have underlying allergies or inflammatory disease predisposing to ear infections.
