Meet Bella (breed experience needed)

Bella is a 10 year old, short, and stocky bulldog who arrived at MCHS as an owner surrender. She was very loved by her owner, who urgently had to move to a new place that would not accept dogs. She was described as an "Olde English Bulldogge", a breed that's supposed to be larger than the English bulldog, with less exaggerated features. However, Bella has the wrinkles and very flat face of the classic English bulldog. Perhaps she is a mix of both bulldog breeds, and we want to find her a home that is familiar with this type of dog. She came to us spayed and microchipped already, and was found to be in decent shape and had her bloodwork and vaccinations updated by our vet. Her fee is $150. Bella is a senior dog looking for an experienced and somewhat quiet retirement home. She is on the chunky side at 68 pounds and would benefit from some exercise and maybe losing a bit of weight. She doesn't mind a nice walk, followed by some lounging. She wants an ADULT only home. Teens are fine. She has done okay with male dogs of similar size and cats. Smaller dogs tend to rub her the wrong way. She's a queen! NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.
