Meet LOKI
Loki is a dog with a significant right eye (OD) abnormality, including neovascularization, inflammation of the sclera and conjunctiva, and a growth on the corneal surface. These findings are concerning for chronic ocular disease and may affect both comfort and vision if left untreated. Loki has been started on Neopolydex ophthalmic ointment to provide initial treatment; however, he will require additional diagnostics, continued ophthalmic care, and evaluation by a primary care veterinarian or veterinary ophthalmologist to determine the underlying cause and appropriate long-term treatment. Despite this condition, Loki remains gentle and is doing his best while receiving supportive care. Loki needs a safe, compassionate placement where he can receive continued veterinary evaluation and treatment to preserve his comfort and eye health. This pet is at risk for euthanasia due to the level of medical care required, which exceeds what we can provide in the shelter. If you are interested in helping, please email [email protected] with your contact information so we can call you back.
