Meet SHORTIE

Meet Shortie—a literal potato on tiny legs! ????At 9 years old, Shortie has spent far too much time in and out of the shelter since 2020. His first stay ended after he caught kennel cough, and later that year he was returned by a foster because he was having diarrhea. He was eventually adopted, but sadly found himself as a stray again—and when his owner was contacted, there was no answer. Through it all, Shortie has remained the sweetest, happiest little guy. He enters his kennel with a wagging tail, is easy to leash, and is an absolute dream on leash. He doesn’t pull and is just so easygoing. Shortie is a little on the chubby side, but honestly, with those tiny legs and potato-shaped body, it just adds to his charm. In the play yard, Shortie immediately seeks out affection. He loves people and is perfectly content to lay down right at your feet. Shortie takes treats gently from an open hand, he can be quick when it comes to food so open hand is needed. He has also been paired with another dog and could definitely have fursiblings. Shortie is the definition of chill. We think he would make an amazing office dog, a wonderful companion, and the ultimate couch potato.
