Meet Knox
Meet Knox, a 10-year-old Shih Tzu weighing about 18 pounds. This handsome gentleman may be carrying a few extra pounds, but he's also carrying a whole lot of love for his best friend, Kenzie. Knox is house-trained and enjoys spending time in the yard, going for brief walks, playing with toys, riding in the car, and, of course, relaxing on the couch. He's part couch potato and part playful pup, and he has a special way of watching his humans with his expressive eyes. Knox is still a little reserved, but his personality is coming out more and more each day as he settles in. He enjoys being close to his people but is also comfortable being independent when left alone for a while. He does have some boundaries—he doesn't enjoy people getting in his face or having his back paws touched—so a patient family willing to respect his space will be the best fit. Knox enjoys playing with dogs his size or smaller. He hasn't been exposed to cats, larger dogs, or young children. He gravitated toward the teenagers in his foster home, but his foster mom isn't sure how he'd do with children under 5. Most importantly, Knox and Kenzie have spent years together and are looking for a home that will welcome them both. They are well-mannered, house-trained, affectionate, and clearly accustomed to being loved. If you're looking for two sweet little companions to share your couch and your heart, Knox and Kenzie are ready to meet you. Their combined minimum adoption fee is $400, plus a $15 fee per dog for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
