Hi, I’m Milky Way. I’m a senior boy, and I’ve been through a pretty big change in my life. I came to rescue with my sister, Rosette, after our beloved owner passed away. Losing the person we loved was hard, and I’ll admit that I’m a little shy and nervous when meeting new people. When I’m scared, my first instinct is to get away rather than face something that worries me. Please be patient with me and let me come out of my shell at my own pace. Once I realize you’re someone I can trust, you’ll get to see the affectionate boy hiding underneath that nervous exterior. I love attention, cuddles, and climbing into your lap to be close to my person. And apparently, I’m pretty adorable when I’m dressed up in cute outfits, too! I’m also good with other dogs and have a gentle, easygoing personality. I’d love a quiet, peaceful home where I can relax and feel secure. Older, considerate children who understand that I need a little time to adjust would be just fine with me. I’ve had bloodwork done and everything came back normal. I do have a 3/6 heart murmur, so my new family should be aware of that and continue to monitor my heart with my veterinarian. I’m neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and current on ProHeart 12 and Bravecto. I may not be the boy who immediately runs up to you and asks for cuddles, but if you’re willing to be patient and earn my trust, I promise there is a sweet, loving little boy waiting to give you his heart. Milky Way is currently located in Texas but can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington, Kentucky, and locations along the East Coast for an additional $250 transport fee. Please note that we are unable to transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to state regulations.
