Meet Nina - SC

Nina – 10-Year-Old Belgian Malinois (Courtesy Listing) Meet Nina, a wonderful 10-year-old Belgian Malinois looking for a new place to call home. Don't let her age fool you—Nina is healthy, active, and still loves having a job, whether that's going for an adventure, playing with a favorite toy, or showing off the years of training she's had. Nina has spent her entire life with her owner, who trained alongside professional K9 trainer OJ Knighten in Santa Clarita, California. As a young dog, she was introduced to Mondioring foundation work, including leg sleeve and bite suit work, while also building an exceptional obedience foundation. Over the years, she continued training in obedience, agility, toy work, and off-leash reliability, growing into a calm, well-mannered companion. Today, Nina is the definition of an "easy keeper." She's happy to relax around the house, spend time outdoors, or join you on a walk or road trip. She remains highly food and toy motivated, making her enjoyable to work with, but she no longer requires the level of daily stimulation that a younger Malinois might. Nina's Highlights 10 years old Healthy with no known medical concerns On monthly heartworm prevention Exceptional obedience and manners Trained to an e-collar for reliable off-leash adventures Excellent recall, including whistle recall at long distances Loves car rides and has traveled extensively Friendly with people of all ages and especially enjoys meeting men Does well with children Comfortable in a variety of living situations, from apartments to horse properties Has lived successfully around livestock Has been kenneled traditionally and in group boarding environments Happy living indoors or outdoors with appropriate shelter Nina has adapted well throughout her life, thriving in everything from small apartments to horse ranches. She's spent the past year and a half enjoying outdoor living with access to a large workshop for shelter and has proven to be incredibly adaptable wherever life has taken her. Like many dogs with prey drive, Nina is very interested in cats and squirrels, so a home without cats would be the best fit. Nina is looking for someone who appreciates the intelligence, loyalty, and heart of an older Belgian Malinois. She still has plenty of life left to enjoy adventures but is equally content spending quiet evenings with her people. If you're looking for a well-trained, trustworthy companion who has already learned all the hard lessons of puppyhood, Nina may be the perfect match. This is a courtesy listing. Nina is not in the care of American Belgian Malinois Rescue. Interested adopters should contact Owen Black at [email protected] or (847) 708-7644.
