Meet Pug - Gambit~

Meet Gambit! 7 years old | 14 lbs. | Male | Neutered | Vaccinated | Microchipped. At 14 pounds, Gambit is the perfect lap-sized package—which is convenient, since your lap is exactly where he plans to spend a good portion of his time. We're just guessing, but Gambit looks like he could be a Chihuahua/Papillon-type mix, with the possibility of some Japanese Chin or another small companion breed. He is ADORABLE.Gambit is a professional cuddler whose favorite place is wherever his person happens to be—preferably in their lap, collecting snuggles and kisses. And if he suddenly can't find his person? Don't worry—Gambit has a solution for that. He has the cutest little howl he'll use to call for you from across the house. You'll also hear it if you make the terrible, unforgivable mistake of closing the bathroom door and leaving Gambit on the wrong side of it. Apparently, privacy is not included in the Gambit adoption package. Don't mistake this lap dog for a couch potato, though. Gambit loves to play and roughhouse with his doggie friends, and then settle down with a good chew bone when playtime is over. He loves to be outside and a fenced yard would give him a safe place to roam. He's great with other dogs (all sizes) and would be happy to have a canine buddy who enjoys playing as much as he does. He's curious about cats, but so far his interest seems to be more along the lines of "Hey! Wanna play?"And kids? Gambit LOVES them! He's been kid-tested and thoroughly enjoys playing with them. However, because Gambit has some firm opinions about personal boundaries, we're recommending a home without small children who may not yet understand when a dog is saying, "Please don't do that."Gambit does have a few known triggers and has bitten when those boundaries were pushed, so his new family needs to take that seriously. He's especially particular about certain kinds of handling. For example, Foster Dad is absolutely NOT permitted to pick Gambit up off the bed, yet that same Foster Dad is more than welcome to sit down and have Gambit happily jump into his lap for cuddles and kisses. That's Gambit in a nutshell: he wants to be close to you, but he also wants a say in how he's handled. A dog-savvy home that can read his signals, respect his boundaries, and let trust build naturally should bring out the affectionate, playful little guy his foster family already knows and loves.ther dogs and kids, understands that even the littlest dogs deserve to have their boundaries respected—and doesn't mind occasionally being summoned by a tiny howl because they dared to go to the bathroom alone. If you're willing to let Gambit come to you on his terms, chances are he'll end up exactly where he wants to be anyway—right in your lap. This is Pug, who was rescued from AC last Friday. He's 7 yo and is 14 Ibs of cuteness in need of a foster who can appreciate his quirkiness. He is fixed and UTD on his vaccinations. He is mostly very loving and snuggly, but he does have some triggers that cause him to react and bite. He enjoys other dogs (and doesn't mind cats) and is quite playful. He's mostly house trained (no issues with regular potty breaks) and happily wears a belly band if needed. He does not like to be crated, but he really doesn't need one. He prefers to be in your lap or snuggled in bed with you. Recommend no small children and a foster with experience with bitey dogs. He needs some time to decompress and help figuring out what makes him reactive. He will be a very nice sogAvailable dogs are met by appointment only and pre-approved adopters ONLY.Our dogs are currently in a foster homes which can answer your questions better than anyone else.
