Meet Dallas
Meet Dallas! Looking for a best friend who doubles as your shadow and professional cuddle buddy? Meet Dallas! This approximately 10-year-old, 40-pound German Shorthaired Pointer is sweet, easygoing, and absolutely LOVES people. She’s happiest wherever her humans are, whether that’s out on a walk or curled up on the couch. Dallas is house-trained, crate-trained, quiet at home, and sleeps through the night like a champ! She knows “sit” and “come,” loves treats, and is a quick learner. She enjoys walks, hikes, stuffies, and snuggling. She does pull a little on leash and has a high prey drive, so squirrels beware! ️Dallas has gotten along well with other dogs in the past. However, in her most recent home, she and the resident dog had some scuffles that eventually escalated into a more serious altercation. Because of this, we want to be thoughtful about her placement and recommend careful introductions and an experienced home that can appropriately manage dog interactions. She has also done well with a cat and adores kids, especially her 6-year-old human fan club member. Kids around 6 and older would likely be the best fit. She’s still working on her counter-surfing skills, so a little supervision is helpful. She’s also being treated for cherry eye with medication. Dallas is a total Velcro dog who just wants to be near her people. When she’s extra relaxed, she may even give you some gentle “corn cob” nibbles! Dallas would love a moderately active home with daily walks, lots of affection, and a cozy spot on the couch. While she has enjoyed the company of other dogs in the past, a dog-free home may be the best fit given her recent experience. Her favorite place will always be right by your side! ❤️Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $100.
