Meet JJ

JJ is a lovable, outgoing guy with a young-at-heart personality and a whole lot of affection to give. He loves being with his people and isn’t shy about showing it—expect kisses, leaning in close, and even some gentle little “grooming” nibbles when he’s feeling extra loving. He’s curious about everything, enjoys exploring the backyard, keeping tabs on the neighborhood, and then crashing for a serious nap when the fun is over. In his foster home, JJ is fully potty trained and comfortably free-roaming. He gets along great with his canine foster sibling and enjoys having another dog around. He’s also been curious but respectful with the resident cat and is easily redirected. JJ is very food motivated and has been making great progress with training. He’s learned sit, is working on paw and other manners, and is getting better about waiting at doors. He’s still polishing his leash skills and can pull when he’s excited to head out on an adventure. JJ has a medium energy level and a great balance of activity and downtime. Give him a backyard to explore, a good chew, a snuffle mat, or something tasty to work for and he’s a happy guy. He can get enthusiastic when there’s lots of excitement and is still learning not to jump up when greeting people, so he’ll appreciate a family who will continue his training. And don’t let his perpetually worried-looking eyebrows fool you—behind that concerned little face is a happy, affectionate boy who loves life and loves his people even more.
