Meet Kasim

Kasim: A Gentle Companion Ready for His Forever Home Kasim is a distinguished 6-to-7-year-old male Boxer weighing approximately 51 pounds. With his striking looks, mild manners, and affectionate personality, he is the perfect blend of playful energy and mature companionship. Currently thriving in a foster home in the Austin area, Kasim is fully vetted, healthy, and ready to make a seamless transition into a permanent, loving family. Personality & Home LifeKasim is an exceptionally gentle, well-mannered dog who thrives on human companionship. He bonds deeply with his caregivers, choosing to stay close by their side during the day and sleeping faithfully near their bedsideo at night. He is house-trained and has excellent household manners, clearly signaling when he needs to go outside. Gentle Nature: Kasim is incredibly polite, especially during meal and treat times. He is remarkably careful when taking food or treats directly by hand. Playful & Active: Don't let his mature age fool you—Kasim loves to run, explore, and play. He keeps his favorite toys close by and thoroughly enjoys car rides and trail walks with his fosters. Smart & Teachable: He already responds well to a solid foundational vocabulary, including commands such as sit, lay down, come, go, move, outside, walk, and eat, and he is currently mastering paw. Affectionate: His absolute favorite pastime is receiving belly rubs, and he will happily roll onto his back to request them. Health & Medical StatusKasim is in excellent health and comes fully prepared for adoption: Vetting: Fully neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on all core vaccinations (Rabies, DHLPP, and Bordetella). Preventatives: Test results were entirely negative for heartworms and other parasites, and he has been started on ProHeart heartworm prevention. Nutrition: He is currently enjoying three meals a day to help him reach his ideal weight after being found as a stray, and his physical exams are completely clear. Ideal Placement SuggestionsKasim is looking for a home where he can be a true member of the family. Because he craves consistent human connection, he will do best with an adopter who has plenty of time to dedicate to him. Family Dynamics: He is wonderful with adults and teenagers. His compatibility with small children ori nfants is currently unknown. Environment: Kasim requires a cat-free home. He also prefers a crate-free environment, as he is perfectly trustworthy when left loose and navigates doggy doors and stairs with ease. He has shown no tendency or capability to jump fences or walls, offering great flexibility in yard types. Transition: Adopters should plan for a standard two-week acclimation period as Kasim adjusts to his new surroundings.
