Meet Layla

Meet Layla, an 11-year-old sweetheart who has been through more change than any senior dog should have to face, yet somehow remains gentle, loving, and completely open to everyone she meets. After her owner passed away, Layla and her two brothers were surrendered to a shelter. Her brothers were adopted, leaving Layla behind until a volunteer met her, fell in love, and made sure she had a safe place to land with Dallas Pets Alive. Layla is truly an easygoing girl. She is potty trained, walks beautifully on leash, loves car rides, and enjoys a leisurely stroll of about a mile before settling in for one of her many naps. She is wonderful with people, has done great with children and dogs of all sizes, and even calmly walks away when another dog is less than friendly. Her previous notes recommend a home without cats. Layla may also be experiencing some hearing loss, but she takes it all in stride. She does not enjoy being crated, though she does wonderfully free roaming or relaxing in a bedroom while her people are away. More than anything, Layla wants to be close to her people. She is a professional shadow with a velvet-soft coat, a gentle spirit, and just enough playful energy left for toys and the occasional burst of silliness between naps. After losing her person, her home, and her canine brothers, Layla deserves to spend the rest of her golden years knowing she is home for good. All Dallas Pets Alive adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon adoption. The standard minimum donation for dogs over six months to seven years is $200, puppies under six months is $250, dogs eight years and over are $100 unless specified otherwise.
