Legba is a 7-year-old Beagle mix who currently weighs 52 pounds and is proving that seven is just a number! This sweet boy is active when he's out and about, loves going for walks, enjoys exploring, and does great with other dogs. Legba is also on a weight-loss journey and absolutely crushing it! He's already lost 5 pounds and is well on his way toward a healthier weight. Regular walks are not only helping his waistline—they're also one of his favorite ways to spend time with his people. At home, Legba is house trained and crate trained and enjoys being part of the family. He has also lived with children and gets along well with other dogs. And yes, Legba is definitely a Beagle! If someone is walking down the street, don't worry—Legba will make sure you know about it. He likes to keep tabs on the neighborhood and isn't shy about announcing when he spots someone passing by. Legba was originally chosen as a companion for someone with PTSD, and being a loyal companion is still something this boy does exceptionally well. He loves his people and would be a wonderful match for someone looking for a dog who is past the puppy craziness but still has plenty of energy to get out, take walks, explore, and enjoy life. If you are interested in adopting Legba, please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet's age. **Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out-of-town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt.
