Meet Lexi
Meet Lexi, a little Yorkie with two big loves: cuddling with her person and going for walks! Nearly 11 years old and about 13 pounds, this affectionate senior is looking for a home where she can enjoy plenty of both. Lexi is gentle, playful, and eager to please. She enjoys toys, rides well in the car, and loves staying close to her favorite person. After eight years in the same home, she came to rescue when her family could no longer provide the time and care she needed. She can be shy and skittish, especially around men, and needs patient people who will let trust grow at her pace. She gravitates toward women and would love someone who is home much of the day. She can warm up to other dogs with gradual introductions, though she likes to be the boss! Lexi has had no reaction to the cats in her foster home. Expect her to announce visitors and unfamiliar sounds, too. Lexi is mostly housetrained but has a history of accidents. A predictable routine, regular potty breaks, and gentle encouragement will help her settle in. Lexi is carrying extra weight and will benefit from daily walks and a veterinarian-guided weight-management plan. Fortunately, she LOVES walking! Exploring together is a wonderful way to give her exercise, enrichment, and the companionship she craves. She is spayed, microchipped, and tested heartworm-negative at her October 8 veterinary visit. Her recurring skin and allergy concerns need continued attention. Lexi had a dental and 2 small mammary masses removed (non-cancerous) If your idea of a perfect companion is a walking buddy who becomes a cuddle buddy afterward, Lexi would love a place beside you.
