Meet Lucy-loo

ADOPTION PENDINGLucy-loo's owner passed away and sadly there was no one to care for her. She got lucky when the special folks with Bluegrass Beagle Rescue in Kentucky took her in. They started treatment right away for her bad case of flea allergic dermatitis and their love and attention started to do its magic on her wounded spirit. Now in Florida with one of our wonderful fosters, Lucy-loo's skin and coat are lookkng great! Her personality has begun to shine too. She is all about people and quite happy to approach anyone and everyone to make friends. Lucy-loo is fairly low energy and great on leash. Her favorite activity is going on walks. Although she's comfortable meeting other dogs in public, (fine at the dog park), Lucy-loo initially made it known that she really didn't want them around at home. She is gradually getting better about being in the pack and is starting to hang out with a little senior male beagle on a regular basis. So we think she could potentially be fine with another dog. She seems to do well with cats though, and also with chickens. Being a beagle she’s all about food. She is polite when taking it from your hand, but as soon as it's down on the ground, it most certainly belongs to her. Because of that, we would recommend a home without children. Lucy-loo has been left at home alone and vocalizes her discontent for about 10 minutes but then she calms down. She was initially not at all comfortable being crated but her foster mom has been feeding her in her crate and Lucy-loo has been voluntarily going into the crate to relax. Hopefully over time she'll get more comfortable. Lucy-loo is negative for heartworms and she is ready for sleepover!
