Meet Morgan
Morgan is a 7-year-old, approximately 60-lb spayed female Lab mix currently in Texas and available for adoption through Dizzy Dog Animal Rescue. She spent the first seven years of her life with the same owner before unexpectedly finding herself starting over, and despite such a major change, she has remained remarkably affectionate, trusting, and eager to connect with people. Morgan LOVES people and happily approaches strangers for attention and affection. She is cuddly, friendly, curious, and seems especially delighted when men give her attention. She has a wonderful balance of energy for someone looking for a companion who still enjoys getting out of the house but also knows how to relax. She happily takes several approximately 20-minute walks throughout the day, enjoys exploring and window-watching, and is equally content settling onto a couch or bed afterward. She is potty trained, beautifully leash trained and genuinely does not pull, rides well in the car, and can be left alone without destructive behavior or accidents. She knows basic commands including “sit” and “come,” is very intelligent, and is extremely food/treat motivated. She is past the puppy-chaos stage while still having plenty of energy and personality. Morgan may also be able to live successfully with another dog. BARC documented multiple positive interactions with other dogs, including walking alongside dogs on leash, interacting appropriately on leash, and remaining calm around dogs through fence lines. She is very interested in other dogs and can be a nosy, overly enthusiastic greeter, so slow, structured introductions with a compatible dog are recommended rather than immediate face-to-face interaction. Her history with cats is unknown. Her history with small children is also unknown; based on her consistently affectionate and social behavior with people, she may do well with children, particularly older children, but she has not been formally tested with them. Morgan is spayed, currently heartworm negative, and has no known ongoing health issues. She also happens to be wonderfully tolerant of being dressed up and photographed and will happily pose in flowers, bandanas, bows, and apparently whatever else humans decide she should wear. What stands out most about Morgan is how readily she still gives people her trust. After seven years with one person and suddenly losing the only life she had ever known, she still seems to approach every new person expecting them to be a friend. She is not looking for someone to feel sorry for her — she is an affectionate, funny, very adoptable dog who simply needs the chance to begin the next part of her life with someone who intends to keep her. Location should not prevent the right family from considering Morgan. She is currently in Texas, but Dizzy Dog Animal Rescue offers transport, with transport costs included in the adoption fee.
