Meet Ophelia
Meet Ophelia ❤️ There’s something extra special about a senior dog who has every reason not to trust people, but chooses to love them anyway. Ophelia is a 9-year-old Dachshund mix weighing just 13 pounds, and this sweet little girl has not had the life she deserved. She came to us from a dog hoarding situation after spending most of her life knowing neglect instead of what it feels like to truly be someone’s beloved pet. And yet, Ophelia is incredibly sweet. She’s loving, gentle and almost seems grateful for every little kindness that comes her way. A soft bed, a warm lap, a good meal, someone reaching down to give her some love — these are simple things, but to Ophelia they mean everything. ❤️ She isn’t asking for much. She just wants a safe place to land, people who will love her and the chance to spend the rest of her life knowing what she should have known all along — that she matters and she belongs to someone. At 9 years old, Ophelia may not have had the best first chapters, but we have every intention of making sure the rest of her story is different. She’s 13 pounds of sweetness, gratitude and love, and somewhere out there is the person who gets to show this little girl just how good life can be. Ophelia has waited long enough. Now it’s her turn. ❤️ Please note: All dogs are rescues so we often do not know the actual breeds but use an educated guess to tell you what they most look like. Our adoption fee is $400 and unless otherwise stated all dogs and puppies have been spayed/neutered, microchipped, 4DX tested (if age appropriate), put on heartworm/flea/tick prevention, age appropriately vaccinated, dewormed, vet checked and flown from Puerto Rico.
