Dog who called Maryland shelter home for 7 years finally adopted: "There wasn't a dry eye in the house"

Kylo Jace, a senior dog who had been a resident at the SPCA of Anne Arundel County for 7 years, has finally found his forever home. The SPCA shared on their Facebook page that Kylo is a dog who takes time to trust new people, showing his true personality only to those he feels comfortable with. Over the years, Kylo had a few dedicated volunteers and staff members who earned his trust and cared for him. Recently, a woman began visiting Kylo twice a week, gradually earning his trust and becoming part of his inner circle. The SPCA team also helped Kylo get comfortable with car rides and home visits before his adoption. On a Sunday, Kylo left the shelter for the last time, and the shelter staff expressed their joy on social media, saying, 'There wasn't a dry eye in the house and we truly are on Cloud 9 knowing he gets to spend the rest of his life loved for exactly who he is!' Kylo's adoption fee was covered in memory of Jim Ehrig, a beloved supporter of Kylo's. The SPCA hopes Kylo's story will inspire more people to adopt shelter dogs, aligning with the mission of organizations like Lily's Second Chance, which focuses on senior dogs finding loving homes.
