Meet Bob
Welcome Bob to CCPAL Rescue. He is a 7.5-year-old Mastiff/Lab mixed dog. He is about 50 pounds and he is very sweet. He is now ready for his forever home. He is an adorable bubble blower, and he had the most adorable drool on the video. If you love the Mastiff breed, then you know they drool. It is a part of their charm. He will be a loyal boy and he is lower on the energy scale. He was extremely happy to be walking her at the rescue. We have been spending lots of time getting all the adult dogs good on leash. He has a lower coat and not a huge shedding dog. He would be great for an older couple looking for a large and lower energy companion. He would also be good for a family where the man works out of town, and he wants to know his kids and wife feel safe with a dog watching the scene. He is healthy and getting vaccines. He is neutered and ready for his forever home. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally. We work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is $300 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to [email protected] if you have questions. Adopting Bob — FAQ
How do I adopt Bob?
Use the adoption link or contact details on this page to apply directly with Cowboy Capital Pet Assistance League in Bandera, Texas. Lily's Second Chance lists Bob to help them get seen — the adoption is handled by that organization.
Is Bob still available for adoption?
Bob's listing is refreshed regularly, but availability can change quickly as dogs are adopted. Always confirm Bob is still available directly with Cowboy Capital Pet Assistance League before making plans.
Is Bob a senior dog?
Yes. Every dog listed on Lily's Second Chance, including Bob, is a senior — generally age 7 or older. Senior dogs are often already house-trained and calm, and they wait the longest for a home.
Can I foster Bob instead of adopting?
Some shelters and rescues offer a foster-to-adopt path — you foster first, then complete the adoption if the match feels right. Check Bob's profile for the organization's contact details and ask them directly whether a fostering option is available.
What should I expect in the first weeks after adopting Bob?
Senior dogs typically have a brief adjustment period of a few days to a couple of weeks as they settle into a new home. They may be quiet or shy at first, then relax once they feel safe. A calm routine, a comfortable place to sleep, and patience usually make the transition smooth. Most senior dogs settle in faster than puppies because they are already past the demanding early stage.
Is Bob good with children or other pets?
Compatibility depends on the individual dog's history and personality more than age or breed alone. Cowboy Capital Pet Assistance League can tell you about Bob's known behavior around children, cats, and other dogs. Many organizations offer a meet-and-greet before finalizing an adoption to make sure the match is right for everyone.
Know a senior dog who needs a home?
