Meet Bertha II

6/16/2026 Bertha II is an owner surrender looking for a new home. Hi! My name is Bertha II! I am a beautiful 7 year old brindle girl that is an owner surrender due to my owner not having the time or ability to care for me. I am bonded with my littermate, Rocky, and need to be adopted together which means double the boxer love! I am described as friendly, active, smart, protective, playful, and affectionate! I live with my littermate Rocky and we get along great! If I meet other dogs I do not know, I am reactive until I connect with them. I do not live with a cat so it is uncertain if I am feline friendly. There are no children in my home but I have had exposure to a 4 year old and am said to be kid friendly! I am house trained, crate trained, eat Instinct raw dog food, and at night I sleep on a dog bed in the living room. If the humans must be away, I am fine with other dogs to keep me company. When outside I have great behavior and do not dig or attempt to jump fences/gates. Some of my favorite things are riding in the car, a ball, and giving & receiving affection! If you think Rocky and I would make a great addition to your home contact the rescue today and give them our names because we are waiting to meet you!

Can I foster Bertha II instead of adopting?

What should I expect in the first weeks after adopting Bertha II?

Senior dogs typically have a brief adjustment period of a few days to a couple of weeks as they settle into a new home. They may be quiet or shy at first, then relax once they feel safe. A calm routine, a comfortable place to sleep, and patience usually make the transition smooth. Most senior dogs settle in faster than puppies because they are already past the demanding early stage.

Is Bertha II good with children or other pets?

Compatibility depends on the individual dog's history and personality more than age or breed alone.
