2nd Chance Pet: Meet Lucy!

Lucy, a 7-and-a-half-year-old dog, has been at the Humane Society of St. Joseph County since early August, quickly becoming a favorite among the staff. Despite her senior age, Lucy enjoys walks, playing with a tennis ball, and being close to people, making her a perfect companion for those who prefer a calm, couch-loving dog. She gets along well with other dogs, cats, and children, and responds well to training, especially when treats are involved. Lucy's only health concern is skin allergies, which are managed with medication. Her exact breed is uncertain, though she likely has some Labrador retriever in her. For the month of October, Girly Leap is sponsoring adoption fees for all adult animals over a year old, which is particularly beneficial for older pets like Lucy who often stay longer in shelters. The Humane Society of St. Joseph County will be at Girly Leap and the Indiana Dinosaur Museum with adoptable animals, including Lucy. Those interested in adopting Lucy or other pets can visit the Humane Society's website, call their phone number, or visit their shelter.
