Zara And Triscuit Wait For Homes At Humane Society Of York County

The Humane Society of York County is currently seeking homes for Zara, a cat who has spent over a year and a half at the Fort Mill shelter, and Triscuit, an 11-year-old senior dog who has recently completed treatment for heartworms. Both animals are spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested, and are available for adoption at the shelter on Regent Parkway. Zara, estimated to be about 3½ years old, came to the shelter through an owner surrender and is known for her playful and sometimes reserved nature. She is available for adoption with a single person, a couple, or a family. Triscuit, on the other hand, arrived as a stray and is described as relaxed and sweet, with a preference for treats. She gets along well with small dogs but does not do well with cats, so the shelter is looking for a quiet home for her to spend her senior years. The shelter is also celebrating Pit Bull Appreciation Month in October, highlighting the importance of positive reinforcement training and early socialization for the breed. The Humane Society of York County is asking for donations of cat litter, laundry detergent, bleach, and dog treats, and encourages fostering, volunteering, and shopping at their eBay store to support their efforts. To meet Zara or Triscuit, or to learn more about adoption requirements, call the shelter at 803.802.0902 or visit humanesocietyofyorkcounty.org.
